Otto Feuer's Funny Animals

Hi, kids! Long time no see. I’ve been absent a while, and I’ve missed you all very much. So, let’s get right back to it.

Today we have a couple of stories from the great stalwart, Otto Feuer, from MOVIETOWN’S ANIMAL ANTICS No. 40, September/October 1952 (a title from the wonderful DC line of funny animal comics from the 50s and 60s.

Largely and tragically forgotten today, Feuer was born in Germany in 1907 and immigrated to America prior to WWII. Educated at Cooper Union in New York City, he began his career with Fleischer animation studios, finding a home eventually with DC, where he worked throughout the 40s and 50s.

Today let’s enjoy two of his signature features: Bernard the Brave and Nip and Chip.
