I have Roy Thomas a ten or twelve page, handwritten piece from Jim just full of information, but Roy has never run it in Alter Ego. Weren't they licenced from movies at the time?

It seems like whoever owns the rights holds on to that stuff pretty good. I've never seen any of those actual cartoons surface anywhere, have you? I mean like public domain DVD collections or late night on Cartoon Network, stuff like that?

I think they were probably hilarious, though, judging by these comics.Albie The Goodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10581327547260652201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6028911836649669351.post-63970757860587869762011-10-08T17:49:57.773-04:002011-10-08T17:49:57.773-04:00Fox and Crow were and in a lot ways still are my f...Fox and Crow were and in a lot ways still are my favorite comic book. Now that Sugar and Spike have started being reprinted, maybe The Fox and Crow will follow. Been watching their cartoons on Antenna TV for the last several months on Totally Tooned In on Saturdays. I though all of those great cartoons were lost forever. They also have been showing old UPA cartoons.bookman187https://www.blogger.com/profile/00755872707086585281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6028911836649669351.post-45786876898695581702011-10-07T01:20:27.793-04:002011-10-07T01:20:27.793-04:00KW: The were great!KW: The were great!Mykal Bantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148489896145024134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6028911836649669351.post-31120106478041382672011-10-07T00:24:21.695-04:002011-10-07T00:24:21.695-04:00These Fox and Crow comics were a level above other...These Fox and Crow comics were a level above other animal comics in my opinion.KWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01792617397718781026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6028911836649669351.post-9098020214362777892011-10-06T11:03:37.523-04:002011-10-06T11:03:37.523-04:00Hey, Chuck! I know Jim Engel, who is the best bigfoot cartoonist going, and some others really wanted to give the DC funny animal line a reboot back (I think) in the 1970s, but for whatever reason couldn't or didn't make it fly.

I have always thought those DC funny animal titles a bit undervalued.

BTW, for a sterling example of Mr. Engel's work, I proudly direct readers to my banner!Mykal Bantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148489896145024134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6028911836649669351.post-43467646687594784912011-10-06T10:40:58.404-04:002011-10-06T10:40:58.404-04:00Ah, yes. Too bad DC nevers revives, reboots or relaunches these types of characters.

Maybe we can swipe them out of the public domain one day?Chuck Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04529750105224374839noreply@blogger.com
